Temporary Association meeting in Berlin, January 14th-15th 2006

To discuss the aims and the functioning of the future European Architectural History Network (EAHN), the Committee of the Temporary association organizes a "brain storming" meeting in Berlin on January 14th-15th 2006. All interested colleagues are welcome to participate.
Contingent upon the number of participants, the meeting will be held either in the Hotel Unter den Linden (where most Committee members will stay) or at Bernd Kulawik's apartment.
Prior to the meeting, all thoughts and suggestions can be sent to eahn@inha.fr. Please specify if you would like the moderator send your e-mail to all the members of the mailing list or to the members of the committee only.
The detailed program will be sent via the mailing list and posted on the EAHN web-site.
In case you consider coming: a dinner will gather the participants on Friday, 13th; Saturday will be devoted to discussion; a visit will be organized on Sunday, 15th. The Hotel Unter den Linden is centrally located; a standard single room costs 57 euros and can be rented online; bilingual website is www.hotel-unter-den-linden.de

EAHN Temporary Association now official !

As already announced, the European Architectural History Network (EAHN) has created a temporary association under the French law. It is called "Association de préfiguration du réseau européen d'histoire de l'architecture". The goal of the association is to develop by-laws for establishing the European Architectural History Network as a permanent organization.
The members of the EAHN committee form the board of the temporary association. The president is Christine Mengin, the vice-president Rob Dettingmeijer, the secretary Alice Thomine, the treasurer Carmen Popescu, and the webmaster Bernd Kulawik. The other members of the committee are Barbara Arciszewska, Maristella Casciato, Dietrich Neumann, Alona Nitzan-Shiftan, and Belgin Turan Özkaya.
The EAHN temporary association is located at the Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art (INHA), 2 rue Vivienne 75002 Paris.
The association is now official, since the by-laws of the temporary association, which can be consulted on the EAHN website, were published in the "Journal officiel de la République française-Associations" on November, 19th 2005 (announcement # 1221 ; http:// assoc.journal-officiel.gouv.fr)
An invitation for membership will be soon be sent via the mailing list and posted on the EAHN web-site.

The European Architectural History Network website has been created, thanks to the EAHN webmaster, Bernd Kulawik. You are welcome to visit:

and add your contributions to the contents of the website.
The EAHN website will give you information about the current activities, publications and job openings related to architectural history, in addition to the activities of the EAHN. It will also provide you with a forum to discuss issues on architectural history in and about Europe as well as the creation process of a European Society for Architectural History.
